About Tai Chi & Qi Gong

Tai Chi & Qi Gong are practices derived from the Chinese culture and health traditions. Tai Chi is considered a soft martial art and is derived from movements associated with Chinese Martial Arts.

Qi Gong (Chi Kung), often referred to as Health Qi Gong, is based on understandings from Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Here is a demo video of “Tai Chi for Relaxation”. I share this Form with most classes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a3O9kkWOio

In both Tai Chi and Qi Gong, simple and relaxing movements are combined into specific sequences. They improve fitness, balance and mobility. They support lymphatic fluid movement, healthy breathing and heart function. Many health benefits come from practising Tai Chi and Qi Gong. The health benefits are well researched and are gaining greater understanding and application as they are integrated into western medicine and health building routines.

The movements are slow and easy to learn. Practice leads to graceful and more precise movement. Learning Tai Chi and Qi Gong is always approached with a light heart and a smile.

Previous experience is not necessary to enjoy and gain great benefits from these health building activities.

Trinco Archers

This group I taught at Rocky Point, Pittwater, Sydney is stretching into the strong “Archer” position from the BaDuanJin Qi Gong routine.

I am a professionally qualified Tai Chi and Qi Gong teacher. I am a member of Tai Chi Association Australia.

About Hatha Yoga in the Himalayan tradition

We received formal instruction in this Yoga tradition at Swami Rama’s Ashram in Riskikesh, Northern India. The teachers there refer to it as Himalayan Tradition Yoga. In adddition to this training in India, Ruby has completed formal instructor training with two other Yoga Teacher Trainers in Australia.

The stretches and Asanas we teach are simple and the movement into and during the postures is supported by and combined with conscious breathing. We work supine, prone, seated, standing and kneeling. Our sessions always conclude with seated meditation. This Yoga is suitable for all ages and stages of experience. Stretches and postures are easily modified to accommodate injuries and restricted range of movement. Ruby and I teach this class together.
